In last week’s CI CyberNews CyberPoll, we asked respondents to share the challenges their businesses are facing in terms of energy costs, health care costs and fair trade impediments. Below are some of their responses.

Energy costs
“Naturally, the pending cap and trade legislation has us nervous.”

“Increasing electric costs.”

“Government involvement in the marketplace.”

Health care costs
“We have been able to keep insurance costs almost flat for the past three years by shopping around. We will have to see what happens next year.”

“Rising renewal expense.”

“Needs monitored.”

“Through-the-roof health care costs and ever-increasing premiums are KILLING my business!! Someone, HELP!!!! This is insanity!!!”

Fair trade impediments
“In an effort to take advantage of ‘stimulus’ money, we are moving some foreign production to the U.S. But there are tooling-up costs (and time), learning curves, and higher costs in general (labor, energy, taxes) that will make these products more expensive for the consumer, and we will lose some of our competitive edge and reputation.”

“Enforcement of legislation.”
