In last week’s
CI CyberNews CyberPoll, we asked readers about the Obama administration’s new manufacturing “czar,” Ron Bloom. The majority of respondents (88.2%) do not believe that Bloom has the experience necessary to solve the problems faced by U.S. manufacturing.
Suggestions for Bloom included:
“Focus on domestic production, increase incentives for U.S. made production.”
“Take a conscious view of industry/association.”
“Ensure U.S. industry is on a level playing field as far as taxes go. For example, imports from Russia to the U.S. have very low tariff, but the tariffs are so high going the other direction it is not profitable to sell into Russia.”
Several participants suggested that Bloom should resign. One specified that he is “too cozy with unions,” while another said, “We already have a Secretary of Commerce.”
