According to the website, the goal of World Toilet Day is "to celebrate the importance of sanitation and raise awareness for the 2.5 billion people (nearly half of the world’s population) who don’t have access to toilets and proper sanitation. By attending or organizing an event, you can help spread the word and break the silence about an embarrassing topic.”
