Last week’s CI CyberNews CyberPoll asked “What should be Job One for the government?” Here’s a breakdown of participants’ responses:

Jobs: 56%
Other: 32%
Energy: 8%
Health insurance: 4%
Housing market: 0%
Bailout businesses: 0%

Comments included:

“Private sector job creation by developing incentives to do business in the U.S.”

“Without jobs, the country is at a standstill or going in reverse.”

“Unemployment is more hazardous to your health than anything in the workplace.” -- Tom Cobett, OmniSource Corp.

“Follow the Constitution”

“Provide strong National Security. All other listed items, except energy, are private sector issues. Federal government should not be actively involved in such issues.”

“Get out of all things the private sector can handle and win the war!!!!!”

“Keep economy more stable, rest should be up to free market.”

“What about paying down the debt? Wake up, U.S.!”

“Cutting out useless spending and letting the free market take care of the rest.”
