Due to its versatility, efficiency and reliability, the Buflovak drum dryer has been used for 75 years in a wide range of drying applications. Drum dryers provide one of the only methods available to convert low-concentration solution into dry flakes or powders in one clean and continuous operation. The slow rotating drum is heated internally with steam. Product is applied to the outside of the drum where water is vaporized and the full-length knife removes the dried product from the drum. Drum dryers are thermally efficient, using only 1.1 to 1.3 lbs of steam per pound of water evaporated.
