Alcoa recently announced the appointment of three executives to new positions. Effective immediately, William J. (Bill) O'Rourke, has been named president, Alcoa Russia; Richard L. (Jake) Siewert, Jr., has been named vice president, Environment, Health & Safety and Public Strategy; and Julie Caponi has been elected vice president, Internal Audit. O'Rourke, who has been an Alcoa vice president since 1997, is responsible for the manufacturing assets Alcoa recently acquired in Samara and Belaya Kalitva in the Russian Federation. Siewert joined Alcoa in October 2001 as vice president, global communications and public strategy. In his new assignment, Siewert is accountable for Alcoa's global environment, health and safety efforts in addition to continuing leadership of the company's communications and public strategy responsibilities. Caponi joined Alcoa in 2000 and shortly thereafter was named assistant controller and an officer of the company. In 2004, she was promoted to director, Financial Planning & Analysis.
