Ceramic artists should be getting fired up: the final entry deadline for the 2011 National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Biennial Exhibition is August 30. All ceramic artists who reside in the U.S. and are over the age of 18 are welcome to enter the competition.

The theme for the upcoming event is “Tidal Forces: the Next Wave.” All submissions are required to be entered electronically as digital images. Each participating artist can submit two works with two views per entry. These images will be assessed by three professionals in the field of ceramic arts—Glen R. Brown, Julia Galloway and Arthur Gonzalez—who will select the recipients of purchase and merit awards totaling about $7000.

During the judging process, the images will be on display at the Tampa Museum of Art from January 29, 2011 to April 24, 2011. The 45th annual NCECA Conference will be held in Tampa around the same time (March 30-April 2).
