The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME, www.sme.org) has issued a call for nominations for its 2009 Innovations That Could Change the Way You Manufacture listing. According to SME, “The list will showcase new and emerging technologies, currently available to the industry, that are making a difference in manufacturing. The overall goal is to aid the manufacturing community with sorting through the many options available to support their efforts to remain competitive.”

According to Mark C. Tomlinson, executive director and general manager of SME, “SME members are always looking to the future, but they are also very much focused on making things happen today. Other lists focus on technology that is not yet available. We want to change this. The idea behind SME’s list is to help our members and the manufacturing community sort through all the ‘new’ innovations announced each year.”

Visit www.sme.org/innovations for additional details and to submit a nomination.
