Tecnargilla Explores the World of Mosaic (posted 5/9/08)

May 9, 2008

In cooperation with Acimac (Italian ceramic machinery manufacturers’ association), Tecnargilla took part in the “Tendenza Mosaico - Tecnologie, Progetti, Materiali” exhibition held March 29, 2008, at the Pordenone exhibition center in Pordenone, Italy, with a workshop entitled “Decoration. Customized Technology.” The event, organized with the support of Pordenone Fiere and “Ottagono,” featured keynote addresses given by leading business figures whose companies will be taking part in the next Tecnargilla.

The audience included some 50 architects and producers, mainly mosaic producers from the district of Spilimbergo in the Friuli region. The meeting prompted strong interest and participation, and underscored the union of the ancient culture of mosaic and modern industry.

Paolo Lamberti (Tecnografica), representative of Acimac’s Screen Printing Company Group, discussed design and machinery in a report entitled “Study and Development of New Products and Aesthetic Solutions.” Gustavo Ferrarese (Esmalglass) gave an address focusing on the creation of color trends and the creative interaction between sectors such as fashion, interior furnishing and sensorial marketing. Claudio Avanzi (BMR) concluded the conference with a more technological address on “Cutting and Finishing of Ceramic Products.”

Relations with manufacturers of ceramic materials and architects will continue to be promoted, culminating at the 2008 edition of Tecnargilla. In particular, Kromatech, the Tecnargilla section devoted to aesthetics in the ceramic sector, will explore new products, materials, decorations and aesthetic codes. The conferences held at Tecnargilla will also address these themes in great detail.

Tecnargilla 2008 will be held September 30 to October 4 in Rimini, Italy. For additional information, visit www.tecnargilla.com.
