PV SOLAR POWER SYSTEM BEGINS OPERATION AT ALCOA FACILITY
Alcoa recently announced the startup of a 588,000-Watt, roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) solar power system at its Alcoa Building and Construction Systems’ Kawneer manufacturing facility in Visalia, Calif. Nanomaterials have established an appreciable market presence -- $1 billion -- mainly in the U.S., Western Europe and Japan. According to “World Nanomaterials,” a new study from The Freedonia Group, Inc., world demand for nanomaterials is forecast to reach $4.2 billion by 2011.
