CERADYNE TO RELEASE THIRD QUARTER RESULTS
Ceradyne, Inc. will release financial results for its 2007 third quarter ended September 30, 2007, before the market open on October 30, 2007. Management will also conduct a conference call to review the company’s financial results. Any investor or interested individual can listen to the teleconference, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. PDT (11 a.m. EDT) on October 30.

MOHR TO HANDLE AREVA LIQUIDATION
Areva T&D Canada Inc. has contracted exclusively with Mohr Corp. to sell all of the machinery and equipment at its modern high-tension ceramic insulator manufacturing operation. Ceramic manufacturing is being discontinued at the facility, located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and the liquidation is taking place quickly due to changes in Areva’s product lines.

MOMENTIVE OFFERS NEW LINE OF PBN PRODUCTS
Momentive Performance Materials Inc. recently launched a new product line of pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN) crucibles, heaters and coatings for the enhancement of the production of copper, indium, gallium, selinide (CIGS) solar cells. Compared to other ceramic materials, PBN potentially provides a higher level of chemical and thermal stability and a lower total cost of ownership.

NSG ADOPTS NEW BRANDING STRUCTURE
Following a major review of its branding strategy, NSG has decided to adopt the Pilkington brand for its global Flat Glass business. “In the new NSG Group, Flat Glass now accounts for around 85% of our global operations, with manufacturing in 27countries worldwide and sales in over 130,” said NSG Chairman Yozo Izuhara.

THERMAL TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES OWNERSHIP CHANGE
Thermal Technology, LLC recently announced that it changed ownership in February 2007. Matt Mede is the new co-owner, president and chief executive officer of the privately-held company. “Not everyone is aware of Thermal Technology’s pedigree,” said Mede. “I plan to capitalize on our expertise and expand into new markets, offering new technologies and capabilities.”

WIENERBERGER EXPANDS HOLLOW BRICK PRODUCTION IN BELGIUM
Wienerberger AG is continuing its expansion strategy in Belgium with additional investments in hollow brick production. Plans call for the enlargement of the Zonnebeke and Egem sites, as well as the renewal of the outdated Rumst site. The total investments are estimated at roughly € 54 million (~ $77 million). “Belgium is one of our largest single markets in terms of Group revenues,” said Heimo Scheuch, member of the managing board with responsibility for North-West Europe.

From Glass to Tile
With the growth of “single stream” glass collection systems, an increasing number of communities are burdened with piles of valueless mixed color glass. High-value markets can be created to use this glass, but the challenge is to develop processing systems and manufacturing processes using post-consumer recycled glass that create products with enough value to support recycling collections.
