ALFRED’S MILLER WINS INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AWARD Michelene E. Miller, who is working on her Ph.D. at the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University, is this year’s recipient of the 2007 Excellence in X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Scholarship awarded by Bruker AXS. CERADYNE’S LIGHTWEIGHT ARMOR COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL ARMY TEST Ceradyne, Inc. has been notified by the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command (TACOM) that its alternate lightweight armor materials, submitted in response to the Army’s Long Term Armor Strategy (LTAS) requirements for advanced armor solutions for application on the tactical wheel vehicle fleet, have successfully completed testing by TACOM’s LTAS team. CERALINK OFFERS MAT FURNACES Ceralink Inc. recently announced that it is now offering microwave-assist technology (MAT) furnaces. MAT is a heating technology that allows manufacturers to double production capacity while reducing energy and manufacturing costs.
