FREEDONIA GROUP PUBLISHES REPORT ON FLAT GLASS DEMAND IN CHINA
Demand for flat glass in China is expected to climb 8.6% per year through 2011 to 2.2 billion square meters. Measured in value, flat glass demand will expand 15% per year to ¥117.5 billion (~ $15.9 billion), driven by a shift in the mix toward higher-value fabricated glass in many applications. The Chinese flat glass market will outpace growth in all other parts of the world, driven by healthy gains in building construction activity as industrialization efforts continue and income levels rise.

The Elster Group recently announced the merger of two of its companies in North America. As of January 1, 2008, Kromschroder, Inc. will be merging its operations with Hauck Manufacturing Co. I-3, OSHKOSH AND CERADYNE AWARDED ARMORED VEHICLE CONTRACT
Ideal Innovations, Inc. (I-3), Oshkosh Truck Corp. and Ceradyne, Inc. recently announced that they have been awarded a delivery order of $18.1 million by the government to produce and deliver Category 1 (six-man) variants and targets of The Bull™ Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle to the U.S. Marine Corps Joint MRAP program office. The vehicles are to be delivered in the first quarter of calendar year 2008 and will be used for further government testing of their explosively formed penetrator (EFP) resistant capabilities.
