NEW CAPACITOR FOR CONSUMER ELECTRONICS AVAILABLE FROM AVX
AVX Corp. has expanded its TLJ Series capacitors and developed a new tantalum capacitor that offers higher capacitance vs. voltage ratio bases on stable MnO2 electrodes. The TLJ Series capacitor offers a 33 µF capacitance at 10V on a 1206 footprint with a height below 1 mm. The 33 µF capacitor, which is being released in a K case size, delivers quality sound in small handheld devices.

COLE NAMED V.P. OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR CERADYNE
Ceradyne, Inc. recently announced the appointment of Thomas A. Cole as corporate vice president Business Development. U.S. DEMAND FOR MEMBRANE MATERIALS TO REACH $4.3 BILLION IN 2012
According to "Membrane Separation Technologies," a new study from The Freedonia Group, Inc., demand for membrane materials is expected to increase 8.2% per year to $4.3 billion in 2012. Growth will be driven by ongoing interest in process fluids with higher purity levels in a variety of markets, as well as the introduction of increasingly strict environmental regulations concerning the quality of water and wastewater streams.

LUCIFER OFFERS FURNACES FOR HIGH=SPEED STEEL AND CERAMICS
A new line of high-temperature box furnaces (HS Series) ideal for processing high-speed tool steels and ceramics is available from Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. The furnaces are designed for 2450°F operation and feature silicon carbide heating elements controlled off-the-line with an SCR power supply. The SCR automatically compensates for changes in element resistance and proportions the lowest power input, providing a steady state control.
