What is the CPSIA?
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) significantly overhauls consumer product safety law. Provisions strictly limit the amount of lead contained in all products intended for use by children aged 12 and under. Beginning February 10, 2009, lead content in these products is not to exceed 600 ppm. As of that date, products need a "general conformity certification" based on a test of the product or a "reasonable" testing program. To learn more, read Understanding the CPSIA from our March issue.

Survey Says!
Last week's CyberPoll asked you to look into your crystal ball and predict the length of the recession. The majority of respondents expect the recession within the U.S. to last more than a year (52.8%). Other responses included one year, 20.8%; nine months, 16.0%; and six months, 10.4%. Participants expect the recession outside the U.S. to last longer: more than one year, 67.2%; one year, 15.2%; nine months, 10.4%; and six months, 6.4%. (One poll participant did not answer the second question.) For this week's CyberPoll (located on the left in the green box), we're wondering what you think your business might be like after the recession.
