FocusOn: Air Circulation Furnace
Nabertherm's N 150/02 CDB electrically heated air circulation furnace is designed for the catalytic debinding of PIM. The polyoxymethylene of the binder is removed from the green compact and chemically decomposed under the influence of the nitric acid. Nitrogen carrier gas removes exhaust and is burnt by the gas-heated exhaust torch.
Unsurpassed safety features include safety control via the PLC with automatic chamber purge in the event of any atmosphere leakage or system failure, door sealing with a monitored nitrogen atmosphere, and an automatic double-locking door, as well as redundant flow controllers for automatic gas supply.
For more information, call (302) 322-3665, e-mail contact@nabertherm-usa.com or visit www.nabertherm.com.

| | Cover Story
Following a few years of contracting demand in the early 2000s, the advanced ceramics industry rebounded from 2003 to 2007. Going forward, growth will decelerate as the industry faces recessionary macroeconomic conditions in the short term. Further restraining demand will be lower requirements for body armor, as the current administration's goal is to significantly reduce military involvement in Iraq. Nevertheless, advanced ceramics will continue to penetrate applications such as capacitors, cutting tools, orthopedic joint implants and membranes, where they are valued for their favorable performance characteristics. Advanced Ceramics in Demand in our December issue cover story. |
