FocusOn: CerMA Hotel Discount Ends this Week

 

The Ceramic Manufacturers Association (CerMA) will hold its Annual Conference April 19, 2010, in Nashville, Tenn., and the deadline to reserve discounted hotel room rates is Thursday, March 25. After that date, room rates will be substantially higher. Topics at the conference will include "Sustainability-More than a Buzzword," Mark McGinley, Ph.D., University of Louisville; "Complying with OSHA Mandates," Tina Kline-Douglas, OSHA; "Managing Energy Costs," Alan Olson, Ferro Corp.; and more. Proposed changes to the Toxic Substances Control Act and other important regulatory issues will also be discussed.

Last week's CyberPoll asked if readers think that Congress is gridlocked by partisanship. The majority (88.9%) of respondents do, though they don't all necessarily think it's a bad thing for the economy. A smaller percentage of respondents (72.2%) think that gridlock spells further stagnation for the economy, while 8.3% are unsure and 19.5% don't think that Congressional gridlock will negatively impact the economy.
