FocusOn: Deltech Glass Melt Furnace Automation

Corrosion-resistant ceramic linings, smooth and nearly instant door operation to facilitate molten glass pours, roof split plugs to permit glass fining, and 24/7 continuous operation reliability are the well-known features of  every Deltech "RS" glass melt furnace. Now Deltech is pleased to introduce our newest feature: automation. The custom-designed 1700°C melter shown here is a controlled atmosphere furnace that uses robotics to lift and move the crucible to a separate chamber while maintaining the inert atmosphere environment, pour the glass into a heated mould, close the mould door, move the mould into the air for cooling, and then return to its original position. For more information, visit www.deltechfurnaces.com.
