This month, the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Mont., will celebrate 60 years of ceramic art and community with a three-day anniversary event from June 23-25. Activities will include technique demonstrations, in-depth discussion panels, tours of the studios of Helena's most talented artists and special exhibitions demonstrating the weekend's theme: "From the Center to the Edge: 60 Years of Creativity and Innovation." In addition, items for the annual Bray Benefit Auction will be displayed on June 23 at the Helena Civic Center. Bidding for the silent auction will close on June 24 immediately after the Bray Benefit Gala Dinner. The weekend will conclude with live music at the Brickyard Bash.
The Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts was founded 60 years ago to serve as a gathering place and workspace for new and experienced ceramic artists. More than 500 ceramicists from all over the world have worked at the Bray at one time or another since its opening in 1951.
