Rutgers Ceramic Engineering Centennial Reunion Set for May

Rutgers School of Engineering's Department of Ceramic and Materials Engineering will hold its Centennial Celebration Party and "All Class" Reunion May 17-18, 2002.

A century ago, central New Jersey's large clay deposits and active ceramic industry made Rutgers a logical choice for one of the nation's first ceramic engineering schools. Today, ceramic engineering has found its way into virtually every industry, from telecommunications to aerospace to medical devices. It will all be celebrated May 17-18, 2002, when Rutgers School of Engineering's Department of Ceramic and Materials Engineering holds its Centennial Celebration Party and "All Class" Reunion. A committee headed by Professor Richard L. Lehman is reaching out to department class members worldwide in hopes of bringing hundreds of ceramic classmates together for the two day event, to be held primarily on the Busch campus in Piscataway in conjunction with the Rutgers Alumni Association's reunion weekend. Events ranging from a golf tournament to a picnic lunch and formal banquet are planned.

To receive formal Centennial Celebration registration materials, call (732) 445-1651, e-mail saudet@rci.rutgers.edu or visit http://www.ceramic.rutgers.edu .
