Waterford Wedgwood Confident of Growth

Irish crystal, chinaware, and luxury goods group Waterford Wedgwood Plc said recently the year had started well and reiterated its intention to double the size of its business in the next five years. The company said in its annual statement that sales in the year to date were up 8% over the same period in 2000, despite the uncertainties of the present economic climate. "We are extremely confident in our objective to achieve dramatic, profitable growth over the next five years," it said. The company said it remained committed to a path of aggressive but careful growth through acquisition.
