February 20, 2001
The World Ceramic Exposition 2001 Korea (WOCEK) will be held from August 10 to October 28 concurrently in Ichon, Yoju and Kwangju, Korea. WOCEK is a nonprofit, international cultural festival celebrating the past, present and future of ceramic arts and industries. WOCEK's three sites represent the roots of Korea's ceramic culture and lie within a short drive of Seoul, the nation's capital, and an hour's drive of each other. Ichon, the main site, is famous for its renaissance of traditional ceramics, while Yoju is Korea's main producer of ceramic livingware. Kwangju is renowned as the home of the Chosun dynasty's Royal Kiln.
