Strategically located in the heart of the process manufacturing industry, the powder event attracts an international audience from over 42 countries who are engaged in the processing, handling, testing, packaging, transportation and storage of dry particulate matter/bulk solids.
“Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition is widely regarded as the definitive training ground for dry processing professionals, keeping companies in touch with the latest trends from more than 600 key industry exhibitors,” said Kevin Richards, industry vice president and show manager, Reed Exhibition Companies.
PavilionsThe Powder & Bulk Solids exhibition, held May 8-11, will unveil innovative solutions in the powder and bulk handling industries while stimulating the flow of ideas and information. A good starting point for attendees to view the latest developments are the pavilions—shows within a show—which make it easy to locate specific solutions, compare competing products, and make informed purchase decisions.
This year’s pavilions include Packaging; Plant Engineering & Maintenance, sponsored by Plant Engineering magazine; and Process Automation, Controls & Drives, sponsored by Control magazine.
Special EventsThis year’s show boasts several special events. Complimentary refreshment breaks on the powder show floor will give exhibitors and attendees a chance to relax and enjoy their experience at the show. The breaks will be held on Tuesday, May 8, from 10:15 to 11 a.m., and on Wednesday, May 9, and Thursday, May 10, from 1:15 to 2 p.m.
The new “Focus On” program, to be held the morning of May 8, will also be complimentary for all attendees, conferees and exhibitors. The interactive and informal program is designed to be beneficial to dry processing professionals’ educational development. Each personalized session will provide practical solutions and applications of developments in powder handling technology, in an interactive format.
The “Focus On” program, led by a panel of world-renowned industry experts, will include the following topics:
- Focus On Agglomeration and Size Enlargement
- Focus On Automation and Instrumentation
- Focus On Dust Control, Generation and Environmental Issues
- Focus On Particle Characterization
- Focus On Pneumatic Conveying
- Focus On Solids Flow, Handling and Storage
The Information Resource Center is also a highly popular gathering spot at the show, providing an opportunity to obtain hard-to-find books, publications and database information related to every aspect of dry processing and material handling.
Expanded Conference ProgramThis year, the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference Program has been expanded into five days. The expanded applications-based conference program includes 45-minute seminars, three-hour workshops, six-hour tutorials, and two-day advanced courses. Conferees will be able to evaluate a variety of solutions for their own unique challenges, and avoid costly mistakes in the complex process of planning, designing and implementing a dry processing system.
New tracks for the 2001 Powder & Bulk Solids Conference include “Business and Environmental Issues,” which discusses issues such as hazards, loss protection, dust control and generation. Returning to the program in 2001 are four highly popular tracks: “Plant Maintenance,” “Packaging Solids Characterization and Properties,” “Solids Handling and Storage” and “Automation and Instrumentation.”
