Premier Mill offers two types of colloid mills for dispersing and emulsifying. The KSIF type uses smooth stellite faces and operates by application of tremendous hydraulic shear imparted to a thin film of material as it pushes through the variable gap arrangement. Ultra-fine suspensions and stable emulsions are possible. The KCD type imparts mechanical grinding action through the use of single or multi-grit silicon carbide stones and a variable gap between the rotating and stationary working surfaces. This allows for superior results in refining granular suspensions, seeds or products requiring mechanical particle size reduction. These units are available in an array of sizes, allowing for a limitless variety of materials to be processed. Viscosities can run from water thin to paste thick.
