Fortune magazine has named General Electric America's Most Admired Company for the fourth consecutive year, based on a survey conducted by the publication. In the Feb. 19th edition, Fortune describes GE as having "Tireless innovation. Robust financials. The ability to lure and keep the smartest people. According to more than 4,000 businesspeople Fortune surveyed late last year, no company in the nation demonstrates such enviable qualities better than General Electric…."

The survey sample consisted of the country's leading business executives, directors and analysts. When asked to determine the top 10 companies from a list of the 1,000 largest U.S. corporations (ranked by revenues) and the 25 largest U.S. subsidiaries of foreign- owned companies, General Electric Co. came out on top. "It is truly an honor to be named America's Most Admired Company for the fourth year in a row," said Tanya Fratto, vice president and general manager of GE Superabrasives, a business of General Electric. "GE Superabrasives and all other businesses that comprise the GE family have contributed a great deal to earning this recognition by not only creating and delivering products and services that are second to none and through fiscal results, but also by actively making a commitment to local community services."
