Dyson Ceramic Systems: Dylon Non-Stick Material

Dylon, a new non-stick material from Dyson Ceramic Systems, eliminates the need for the recoating of the profile following continuous firing. Current practice in the tableware industry when biscuit firing bone china is for setter wash to be sprayed onto the surface of the kiln furniture after approximately 15 firings to prevent the bone china from sticking. "Our new Dylon material will bring considerable cost savings to the tableware industry, as it completely eliminates a costly element of the production process," said Stuart Redford, managing director. "It is therefore ideal for any manufacturing process where a wash is going to be applied." Launched after exhaustive trials with several leading tableware manufacturers, Dylon can be supplied to suit virtually any requirement, including bone china biscuit profile setters and cup rings, T cranks, paragon cranks, pin cranks and total foot support setters.
