Retsch's new MM 301 bead mill is suited to prepare small batches of hard, brittle samples to the fineness of < 50 microns, which is required for reliable XRF/XRD results. Grinding sets are available from 1.5 to 50 ml in metal and non-metal materials to avoid undesired contamination. Typical grinding times are three minutes and less. Compared to the widely used puck and dish mills, the MM 301 offers significant advantages, including the simultaneous grinding of two samples of up to 20 ml, a smaller bench-top unit footprint, convenient low-weight grinding sets, and all-digital controls that guarantee reproducible parameters for analytical results that are always meaningful and reliable.
