Mettler Toledo recently named Christopher Li, a Drexel University professor of materials science and engineering, the recipient of the 2003 Mettler Toledo Thermal Analysis Education Grant. The annual award, in honor of Professor Edith A. Turi of the Polymer Research Institute at the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, acknowledges exemplary work in thermal analysis education. "Professor Li and Drexel University offer one of the most respected thermal analysis programs in the United States," said Tom Basalik, thermal analysis business manager for Mettler Toledo. "This grant will enable graduate students at Drexel to take even greater advantage of the full capabilities of our equipment." Li will receive a complete differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) system from Mettler Toledo. The system will be used as the centerpiece of the new Nanotechnology Center at Drexel University.
