The new twin rotor Hydramix from Hosokawa Bepex gently mixes and hydrates a wide variety of dry or sticky materials in a continuous flow without clogging. The new self-cleaning design features close tolerances between the rotor paddles and the container walls to reduce material buildup. This increases productivity and reduces maintenance in applications such as the hydration of phosphates and soda ash or the blending of feed supplements, fertilizers or pesticides. "Existing hydrators are prone to clog when sticky materials build up on container walls or mixing paddles," said Sara Gantner, product engineer with the company's chemical/polymer group. "The new twin rotor Hydramix solves this problem with paddle rotors that closely intermesh in such a way that they continuously wipe each other to reduce material buildup."
