Starfire Systems, Inc. recently announced that it has been awarded a U.S. patent for its new diesel exhaust filter system. The system uses the company's patented pre-ceramic polymers to create a fiber coating that is more effective and resistant to damage than materials currently being used for diesel filters. This coating, combined with a novel dual-system filter design, significantly reduces hazardous emissions such as nitrogen oxides and diesel particulates from the exhausts of heavy-duty trucks, buses and other large vehicles. Starfire's system has several other features not found in conventional filter systems, including a faster and more efficient regeneration control system to remove soot from the exhaust filter and restore filtration levels.
