Matrix Enterprises: Upgraded DEPA System
January 12, 2004
Matrix Enterprises recently announced that its DEPA system of measuring elastic properties of materials has been upgraded. The new system has the ability to measure more properties, and the data can be saved to an Excel format spreadsheet for data retention and logging. DEPA uses excitation techniques to determine the resonant frequency of the materials being tested. In addition to Young's modulus, Shear modulus and Poisson's ratio, the system measures the Damping Factor, which is a pointer to faults and defects.
