A six-ft diameter TURBO-DRYER will be used to heat-treat a fine metal oxide powder (70 micron particle size) for use in batteries. Ideal for handling fine material, the unit includes an internal electrical heating system to provide the heat to remove the residual moisture. A small purge of dry air or nitrogen is used to remove the water vapor from the system, keeping any fines carryover to a minimum. The design includes an integral fines separator in the dryer exhaust stack. The TURBO-DRYER is a proprietary continuous tray dryer design that consists of a stack of rotating circular trays in a sealed enclosure. Material is fed onto the top tray, leveled and, after one revolution, wiped onto the next lower tray, where the operation is repeated. Fans circulate heated hair in the enclosure to provide the drying medium.
