A new thermocouple calibration furnace from Zircar Zirconia, Inc. incorporates a data logger for connection to a PC, a type S thermocouple for better accuracy at low temperatures and a door port to permit the placement of different sized thermocouple assemblies. Designed for the calibration of precision thermocouples, the unit's door port is positioned at the center of the furnace for optimum temperature stability. With a six-hole standard port and custom ports also available, the design doesn't limit the size and shape of sensors that users can calibrate, as other furnaces do. The standard door port accepts up to five probes under test and one reference probe. The furnace accommodates probes 4 in. long or less. Shorter probes are calibrated by placing the tip of the standards thermometer at the same depth or by ordering a custom-sized assembly to accept special probes.
