Glassman America 2000 will take place May 2-3 at the David L. Lawrence Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., at the heart of U.S. glassmaking. Organized by DMG Business Media Ltd., Glassman America is sponsored by the Pittsburgh Area Glass Industry Suppliers (PAGIS) and the Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorators (SGCD). The show is supported by Ceramic Industry magazine, as well as DMG’s own titles: Glass and Glass International.

The show will bring together senior management, purchasing, technical and production staff from the glassmaking world to meet with the industry’s leading equipment and service suppliers. The exhibition will embrace all elements of the manufacturing process, from the sourcing of raw materials through batching, melting and forming, to the packing and shipping of finished products. A list of the exhibiting companies is shown on pages 34.

In addition to the two-day exhibition, the Glassman event also includes a conference program, with a session on May 3—“Glass Decorating Options and Innovations”—organized by the SGCD. All registered exhibition visitors will also have the opportunity to tour several local glass plants on Thursday, May 4.

A new website has been created for the event. Located at, visitors can find up-to-the-minute information on the sellout of the exhibition. News updates, exhibit categories, information on associated conference sessions, details of the glass plant tours, a guide to exhibiting, list of exhibitors, ticket hotline and more can be found at the site.
