According to the company, introducing traces of niobium during the production of soft ferrites reduces power loss and improves the surface morphology of ferrite bodies. The miniaturization of ferrite components complicates the homogeneous distribution of additives in the ferrite body, a crucial step for the process. This company's niobium (Nb) oxalate is a water-soluble form of Nb that is added to the pre-sintered ferrite slurry. In addition to reaching a very fine dispersion of Nb, the process reportedly reduces environmental hazards.
