Oglebay Norton Co. invites you to participate in its third quarter earnings conference call on Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at 11:00a.m. (Eastern Daylight Time). Interested parties are also welcome to visit the web site at www.oglebaynorton.com/IR/conferen.htm. A replay of the conference call will be available for 30 days beginning at 2:00p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Tuesday, October 24, 2000. In compliance with S.E.C.
