Seelig will be responsible for Minteq’s worldwide manufacturing activities and for leading its Operational Excellence process.

Brian J. Seelig has joined Minerals Technologies Inc. as vice president, Global Manufacturing, Minteq International Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary that produces refractory materials and systems. He will be responsible for Minteq’s worldwide manufacturing activities and for leading its ongoing Operational Excellence process.

Seelig operated his own consulting business, Operational Excellence, where he specialized in lean enterprise development. He has also served as chief operating officer of Amuneal Manufacturing Corp.; chief operating officer for Weatherhill Associates, Inc.; and in various operational and manufacturing positions of increasing responsibility in the automotive, industrial, consumer and pharmaceutical industries.

“I am pleased to have a person of Brian Seelig’s experience in lean manufacturing join Minerals Technologies,” said Joseph C. Muscari, chairman and chief executive officer. “He has implemented Six Sigma lean programs to reduce process variability and eliminate waste, deployed programs to improve shop floor and administrative performance, created China-based supply chains, and led cultural change management-all of which contributed to significant reductions in working capital and higher levels of performance and profitability.”

Seelig holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in history from Boston University, a master’s of arts degree in history from the University of Connecticut, and a master’s of science degree in organizational behavior from the University of Hartford. He is also a lifetime member and regional president of AME-The Association for Manufacturing Excellence.
