Sweco Names Sorter President (posted 8/18/08)

David M. Sorter was recently appointed president of Sweco, a business unit of M-I L.L.C. Sweco is a developer and source of separation technology to a variety of industries. Sorter will lead the industrial businesses of Sweco and United Wire, as well as the ES manufacturing operations. “Our challenge ahead is to build upon the past successes of the company,” said Sorter. “Customer satisfaction will continue to be one of our key metrics. Safety, quality and growth will secure our future.”

Sorter joined Sweco in June 1993 as manager of Manufacturing Engineering and has held various positions in manufacturing through his career, most recently serving as director of Global Manufacturing Operations. He holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree from Eastern Kentucky University and an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cincinnati State. In addition, Sorter’s career has been augmented by a wide variety of continuous improvement/lean systems.
