The National Green Building Conference will be held May 16-18 in Raleigh, N.C.

Green building can mean different things to different people: site design and development, sourcing of materials, methods for energy and water efficiency, and more. The 2010 National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) National Green Building Conference promises to take a whole-house approach to the practice and give attendees all the tools they need, including contacts and ideas for getting started.

The National Green Building Conference, to be held May 16-18 in Raleigh, N.C., is the only national conference targeted to green building for the mainstream residential building industry. Pre-conference courses will run May 13-15.

In addition to the exhibition and educational sessions, several special events are scheduled. On May 16, a Tour of Green Homes will show attendees the diversity of green building. In addition, the tour will bring to life how the Green Building Standard works, as several homes in the tour were built to the standard. Separate registration is required.

The National Green Building Awards Dinner, scheduled for May 17, honors individuals and projects that represent the best in green building over the past 12 months. Separate registration is required.

The Taste of the South Reception takes place on May 16 at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh, which is walking distance from the convention center and conference hotels.
