Owens Corning recently announced that it has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Launched in 2000, the UNGC is a voluntary initiative bringing together more than 7900 organizations throughout the world that share a commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. Its mission is to align global business operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

“Our participation in the UN Global Compact is consistent with our company values and represents an extension of our unconditional commitment to safety, as well as our leadership position in sustainability,” said Mike Thaman, Owens Corning CEO. “We will support this initiative throughout our company, in the local communities that we serve, and in partnership with customers, suppliers and regulators as we conduct business responsibly throughout the world.”
