The Spirit of Ceramics

Ceramic enthusiasts will enjoy this recent DVD release about the life and work of renowned Florida potter Linda Arbuckle.

Renowned Florida potter Linda Arbuckle has recently been featured in an educational DVD titled “The Spirit of Ceramics, Volume 6: Linda Arbuckle: Fresh Color on Pottery.” The film was produced by PBS’ Judy Kelly, Henry Saine and Ginny Martin for use by educational television stations across the U.S. During the half-hour DVD, viewers gain access to a firsthand account of Arbuckle's life at home and in the studio. The film also includes interviews with Arbuckle’s friends and colleagues, a demonstration of the artist’s signature glazing techniques, and a slideshow of images of some of her best work.

“The Spirit of Ceramics” DVD series provides a glimpse into the lives of artists who have made important contributions to the world of ceramic art. “Volume 6: Linda Arbuckle: Fresh Color on Pottery” aired on national public television for the first time on July 11. Find your local National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) channel at www.netaonline.org/ourmembers.htm. The DVD can also be purchased from NCECA's website at www.nceca.net.
