Murata Americas to Collaborate with Cogiscan for RFID Applications

Murata Americas recently announced a strategic partnership with Cogiscan Inc., a leading track, trace and control solutions provider for the electronics manufacturing industry. The companies plan to offer complete PCB track, trace and control solutions using Murata’s RFID tag, MAGICSTRAP®. Cogiscan will reportedly demonstrate the joint solution at the IPC APEX exhibition, scheduled to take place February 19-21, 2013, in San Diego.

“This is a natural collaboration for our companies,” said David Kirk, president of Murata Americas. “RFID offers great potential compared to traditional identification and tracking methods, but this technology must be part of a complete solution to make it easy to use and implement. Cogiscan is the clear leader in PCB tracking and traceability in our industry, and they have more than 12 years of experience working with related software and RFID technology. Together we will bring a world-class solution out of the box.”
