Tile manufacturer JSC Beryozastroymaterialy recently launched an investment plan that aims to raise product quality, introduce new designs, optimize materials use, reduce waste and improve logistics. The plan also includes a focus on the opportunities offered by digital decoration; therefore, the company chose a COLORA HD2 built by Intesa, the Sacmi Group company that specializes in digital printing and glazing solutions for ceramic tile.
Featuring five color bars, each with seven print heads, the COLORA HD2 can print any type of pattern at speeds of up to 48 m/min. Given the print width, which reaches 488 mm, the machine can also be used for large sizes and complex designs. The machine was installed and started up on a single-firing line that produces 1.5 million m2 of 400 x 400 and 300 x 300 tile per year.
Sacmi’s technicians provided JSC staff with support throughout installation and testing. Owned by the Ministry of Agricultural Construction, the company, based in Beryoza in the region of Brest (Belarus), thus completes another strategic stage of an investment plan involving an output that, taking into account double- and third-firing operations, exceeds 10 million m2 a year.
