Huber Engineered Materials, a division of J.M. Huber Corp., recently announced a price increase for its industrial calcium carbonate products. The price increase does not apply to Huber’s food and USP calcium carbonate grades. Effective November 18, or as current contracts allow, the company estimates that prices will increase an average of 4-9%, depending on product grade and packaging.
“Huber continues to work diligently to improve productivity and processing efficiencies to minimize the impact of rising costs for materials, packaging, freight, logistics and regulatory compliance,” said David Riley, vice president and general manager of the company’s Industrial Calcium Carbonate business unit. “Unfortunately, despite these efforts, a price increase is necessary to ensure the high level of product quality and consistency and industry-leading service our customers expect.”
