Wienerberger Supervisory Board Chairman Kadrnoska Dies
Wienerberger recently announced the death of Friedrich Kadrnoska, chairman of its Supervisory Board. Kadrnoska passed away unexpectedly on December 9 at the age of 62 after a brief, but serious illness. Through his work on the Supervisory Board of Wienerberger AG, which he directed as chairman since his election in 2002, Kadrnoska reportedly played a decisive role in the strategic direction of the group.
“On behalf of all Wienerberger employees, I would like to express my sincere sympathy to his family,” said Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG. “Friedrich Kadrnoska will be deeply missed in our company, and we will all remember him as a man with an extraordinary personality.”
The Supervisory Board unanimously elected Regina Prehofer, who has been a member of the board since May 2011, as its chairperson. Prehofer is the vice-rector for Finance and Infrastructure at the Economics University of Vienna, and reportedly has a strong background in commercial banking. During her years on the Supervisory Board, she has reportedly gained extensive knowledge of Wienerberger’s business.
