Sacmi Marks Three Decades in Sanitaryware
Sacmi recently announced that it is celebrating 30 years in the sanitaryware industry. The company will celebrate with an Open Day at its Rimini, Italy, facility on September 22, where attendees can visit the plant and see the company’s latest technological solutions. The agenda includes a symposium on the sanitaryware production process, with speakers discussing the latest trends affecting global markets—from sales patterns to technology.
The company began in 1997 with the takeover of Niv (a manufacturer of sanitaryware casting machines), then-German firms Riedhammer (a key international reference point for kilns and special ceramics), and Sama (a major player in the tableware industry). In 2002, the company completed the takeover of Italian firm Gaiotto, an automation specialist that has, with its glazing and product handling robots, reportedly allowed Sacmi to raise its game from a process automation standpoint. In addition, 345 Riedhammer kilns have been installed worldwide.
