LINN HIGH THERM
Linn High Therm, a leading manufacturer of industrial and lab furnaces since 1969, presents high-quality, high-temperature furnaces for universal heat treatment applications, graphitization, sintering and vacuum brazing in a variety of applications, including the glass and ceramic industry, nuclear industry, metal industry, and more. Each furnace is insulated with fiber or graphite felt and has a vacuum-tight furnace chamber with rotary vane pump, roots pump or turbo-molecular pump up to 5 x 10-4 Mbar. Customizable options are available.
L&L KILN MFG. INC.
A new bell-lift option is available for this company’s 28-in. diameter kilns that are either 27-in. or 36-in. high. This option is available with either a manual winch or an electric winch. The lift design can allow users to lift the entire kiln up and down so that loading can occur directly on the base of the kiln. The system is made of powder-coated welded steel and reportedly comes apart easily for shipping and moving.
Mercury Intrusion Porosimeter
In addition to offering speed, accuracy, and a wide measurement range, mercury porosimetry permits the calculation of numerous sample properties such as pore distributions, total pore volume, total pore surface area, median pore diameter and sample densities (bulk and skeletal). The AutoPore V Series Mercury Porosimeters can reportedly determine a broader pore size distribution more quickly and accurately than other methods. These instruments also include enhanced safety features and offer new data reduction and reporting choices that provide more information about pore geometry and fluid transport characteristics. Steam Jet Mills
NETZSCH S-JET™ steam jet mills produce high-quality and high-purity ceramic materials for use in electronics, aerospace, CMP, and alternative energy applications. Using steam as the grinding gas reportedly results in a tenfold reduction in particle size and a two- to threefold increase in energy efficiency. Visit www.netzsch-grinding.com.
This company’s vacuum-rated high-speed dispersers are a line of tank-mounted and raisable mixers featuring a laser-cut saw-tooth blade that runs to approximately 5,000 ft/min. Also sometimes called a high-speed dissolver, this unit is primarily used to incorporate dry powders into liquid and disperse loosely bound agglomerates. It reportedly imparts high levels of shear while producing vigorous flow and rapid turnover of low- to medium-viscosity dispersions as high as 50,000 centipoise. In most applications, the extent of deagglomeration is further optimized under vacuum conditions that reveal tighter and more uniform particle size distributions in shorter cycle times.
