PPG to Sponsor Inaugural Living Product Expo in Pittsburgh
PPG Industries is sponsoring the first Living Product Expo at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, September 16-18. The inaugural event is organized by the International Living Future Institute, which administers the LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE™ standard.
The trade show and conference included a tour of Pittsburgh’s Center for Sustainable Landscapes at Phipps Conservatory. Reportedly one of only seven buildings in the world to achieve LBC certification, the center was constructed with sustainable glass and paint products manufactured by PPG, which is headquartered just a few miles away in downtown Pittsburgh.
Margie Hahn, PPG manager of the architectural services team, said PPG is honored to serve as a hometown sponsor of this landmark event. “PPG coatings, paints and glass are integral to many hallmark buildings–such as the Center for Sustainable Landscapes, the David. L. Lawrence Convention Center, and a green office tower that a major Pittsburgh corporation is constructing just a few blocks from PPG Place–that make Pittsburgh a leading center of sustainable architecture and design. Equally important, PPG is recognized as a trailblazer in the coatings, paint and glass industries for creating products that help buildings be more energy-efficient, sustainable, and colorful.”
