Work by ceramic artist John Baymore was recently featured in a solo exhibition at Gallery Wando in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The exhibition, which took place from May 28 through June 3, featured the artist's wood-fired teapots, bowls and vases. All proceeds from the event were donated to the natural disaster relief efforts in northeastern Japan.

John Baymore has been producing his signature Japanese-influenced pottery in his New Hampshire studio for more than 30 years. He uses a unique four-chamber wood-fired noborigama kiln to create his pieces, and his work is currently on display in several museums in Japan. When he is not attending exhibition openings in Goshogawara City, John fulfills the role of adjunct professor of ceramics at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester.
