Abrasive-Form is offering cost accounting consultations to manufacturers seeking superior quality and 25-50% reductions in costs by replacing milling or broaching with creep-feed grinding. This cost comparison service is also available to companies with in-house creep-feed grinding that are seeking the lower costs possible via outsourcing. The company's Cost-Comparator Service applies detailed cost accounting analyses to existing manufacturing operations, determining such factors as real costs for capital equipment, consumables, training, system maintenance, work-in-process overhead, tooling design and fabrication, parts and supply inventory, and risk management. Relevant upstream processes, such as casting, and downstream processes, such as the de-burring required for milling/broaching but not for creep-feed grinding, are also figured in for accurate comparisons.
